Most of my computer usage is in Cygwin. Beginning with the 64 bit HP computer that replaced my previous computer, many programs require 9 seconds to load...I assumed that this had something to do with the 64 vs 32 bit motherboards.

Then I accidently learned that when DSL was disconnected, programs loaded immediately. I have not been taking advantage of this because did not feel that DSL sockets were meant to used daily.

Today I right clicked on an icon (name not noted) on the task bar. One of the options was stopping services. I dood it.

Now DSL connect fails with message "Connecting through WAN Miniport PPP, destination unreachable.

How can I reactive DSL connection through WAN Miniport PPPOE?

No restore point has been set.

Thank You
reg
