All of a sudden I have the red x instead of a picture in many web sites. I have ZA Security Suite. Can't find any thing different in firewall settings. Any help is appreciated. Thank you all.

Cleaning out the Temporary Internet Files folder sometimes help. Have you tried that?

Tufenuf, Followed your link, click on view, links not checked..every time I check it, I get the message windows has encountered a problem and needs to shut down..and it does. When I set up favorites on this comp, I deleted the links in favorites..would that have any thing to do with not being able to click on links on the ie task/tool bar?
Thanks for your help..XPUser..the temp files are clean..

Bill, I don't believe that the links being removed would cause the Red X problem. I don't have Zone Alarm but I've read somewhere that there may be a setting somewhere in Zone Alarm which may cause the Red X problem. Someone with Zone Alarm installed may come along and give you some help with the settings. Did you try the other possible solutions at the Microsoft link?

In IE go to Tools-Internet Options-Advanced and then scroll down the list to the Multimedia Section and make sure that the "Show Pictures" box is CHECKED.

Bill,

I do have Zone Alarm Pro and I had exactly the same type of problem you posted. I tried everywhere and had almost resigned myself to paying for technical support to find out what I could do to correct it. By chance I found that going to Privacy in Zone Alarm Pro that I could click on Add and place the url of the site I wanted to see that had the red x's and choose the enable web bugs for that site. Once done I am able to get the site without any red x's. It is surprising! Some sites doen't show the red x's and others do. If it is a site I plan on frequenting, I add the url.

Let me know by posting back. If you need to write me, feel free to do so.
