Red X but no extension in propertie

When I go to web pages there is a red x instead of graphics. When I check the properties box there is no file extension ie "gif" etc. It worked fine until a month ago. Can you help? I have gone to tools and made sure that all the graphics we to show...

Did you verify that the boxes are checked under Control Panel, Internet Options, Advance Tab, Multimedia???

You didn't give us much to go on; I'll assume you are using internet explorer 6 or 7.

Pictures are not displayed on Web sites in Internet Explorer

I think you can do in this instruction
>>open Internet Explore
>>enter in tools menu then click interoptions
>>see advanced tabs
>>click the restore defaults
then you can's miss it
