Red Alert 2 is slow

Whenever I try to play red alert 2 on my PC i find that it loads up really slowly. I have all the latest versions and pathces and nothing is any better. It takes forever to load, I think it is because i have a lot of SVCHOSTs runing in the background taking up resources and i dont want to close them as I read they are VERY important...HELP?

Congradulations, you at least got it to install. I keep getting a small white box and then it just sits there. I've tried the compatability mode and same results. How did you get it to install?

ra2 installed fine so i cant help there but minewas also taking ages to load so i put all the setting down to minimum to see wot difference it would make. (The main change being being resolution down to 640x480) It loaded quick enough but it looked like and absolute heep of s---. So for it looks like for now paitience is the key.

I wish I could help. I uninstalled Red Alert and then reinstalled it, and it works fine. I imagine you aleady tried that.

Thanks, I never really un-installed it because it never got beyond the small white box. I am looking into the video card option. Otherwise I am clueless.
