I have seen this problem posted before but still haven't seen a solution. I do not have the box checked to "remove files immediatley" in the Recycle Bin properties, but when I send a file to the bin, it is there when I shut down at night but gone when I boot up the following day, the bin does not show any files in it, and when I empty it there is no message asking me if I'm sure I want to permanently delete x number of files. I have seen posts where it asks to confirm the deletion and they are actually hidden files. Any help appreciated as this has been an ongoing problem and frustration is setting in.. Thanks

have you had the vx2 spyware? i had it once and when i deleted files they would disappear in the recycle bin. as part of the vx2 recovery, there was one part, where you used a program called killbox and deleted the c:/recycle bin/desktop.ini file. this would make the recycle bin work again. im not sure if thats where the recycle bin is, but search for it. Delete the desktop.ini in there, and that made my recycle bin work right again. nothing else seems to work the same really but you can try this.
