Recovery Fails at ksedd.sys

Specs: Windows XP
Hello, I hope you can help my frustration.

My antivirus software asked me to heal a file that was dangerous, doing so crashed the PC and it now will not boot. It will freeze on a blank screen after the option to go into safe mode. Attempting to start in safe mode results in the screen freezing at WINDOWS/System32/Drivers/yvjyx.sys.

I've attempted to use the XP disk to go into recovery mode, but it complains that the file ksecdd.sys cannot be found and setup fails. I have followed the instructions found on the support forum at to slipstream the drivers onto a CD, but the computer that won't boot still complains that ksecdd.sys is not found - setup cannot continue.

I am pretty sure that I followed the tutorial video to the letter, I am a fairly experienced user, but am now at a loss of what to try next.

Any ideas? I cannot do a clean install as my last backup was over a month ago.
