Have a problem with a Dell machine. It locked up and when I reset it I got the Unmountable book error. I know how to fix this using the Recovery Console when I was using an IDE drive in my old PC, but this one is a SATA drive. How do I get the recovery console to repair a SATA drive.

Why would you think the drive type would make a difference? It doesn't.

You probably have to reload the sata drivers on the boot.

When I tried to boot into recovery console from the CD I got an error message. I will try again and if the error message comes up I will post it.
Cheers for the quick reply

If from CD per is right. You need to load the driver for the sata controller. Better to get RC installed locally as part of the boot.ini selection.
