Recover moved files

Hi all
If i moved file from Hard drive (d:/) to flash disk (f:/) (Shift + Drag and drop) , is it possible to recover the files from the hard disk?

Do not use the PC any more. Physically remove the drive (right now) and attach it as a slave to another system. Use a file recovery program to recover the files.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

elot, have to go along with the slave suggestion. When something gets deleted, it doesn't get erased. What actually happens is that the sectors used to store the data in question simply get marked as ready for use. The data is still there until it gets written over by the next saved item. So long as that hasn't happened, recovery is a breeze. Stupid question, did it copy sucessfully to the flash drive? If it did, what if you simply copy it back? A copy will leave the original (on F) alone. HTH. Ed in Texas.

If i delete the files off the d:\data but i kept saving megabytes of files on c: and desktop, will the it affect its chance of recovery?
