Why did you reinstall Windows in the 1st place? You apparently wiped or wrote over all your data. The more you use the machine, the less chance you have of retrieving your data, so stop using that system immediately. Hopefully one of the recovery tools listed above will work for you but you *may* be sh!t out of luck.

oh dear... regardless of how successful you may be in recovering some if not all of your data; and the chances are reasonable if you cease to write anything to the drive from now on...

Practise the habit of duplicating data off teh system entirely; to optical-media and/or another (external) hard-drive.

And whenever you feel you may have to rebuild a sytem - first - again duplicate all data elsewhere...

Byt doing this you have your data afe and sound regardless of what you may do in recovering a system...

And if a given system won't boot up OK etc... then you can still recover data by booting up with linux on a cd/dvd... and then accessing and copying sed data as above. and both have free downloadable ISO files; which save to a hard-drive; then burn the cd/dvd; boot with that disk etc... Either (or both) of these two disks are really essential items to have these days; real get your data off safely items...
