Recover deleted file???? Help

I cut and pasted a folder from my hard drive to a VPN networked directory and then deleted the folder accidentally. No big deal b/c it should be in the recycling bin right? wrong, not there...i tried ctrl z/y/v nothing works...any ideas?

If you copy and pasted it would have remained there. You said you cut which is to move it so no, it wouldn't be there after you cut it.

I recommend you NEVER use the cut and paste for critical files or folders. As was pointed out you did remove the folder by using CUT. Better to use COPY and paste instead and then if the operation is sucessful and you no longer need the original files, delete them.

Thanks to everyone. Per, I ran the rostoration program, but it only searches the C: Drive and didn't pull it up. The drive I mapped it to and deleted it from was a mapped drive 2 the network. Any other ideas? Thanks again!

You can try the runtime.org GetDataBack. It worked for a couple of people that I was working with when nothing else did. Good luck.

Keep in mind that the more you use that system, the more chance there is that the file will be overwritten and lost forever.
