Hi, since a recent Windows update on my WinXP I come as far as Windows logo and then it restarts. No protected modus. I can contact all Winxp folders through my Linux O.S. Is there a way I can delete updates through Linux (Ubuntu)?. I already had SP2 but no SP3, there were approx. 25 updates. Any help much appreciated.

Did you try booting to Safe Mode or Last good configuration? Tap F8 at start up.

I thought I'd already explained that safe mode (protected modus) doesn't work. Will last good config. option bring me back to config. immediately before update? And could it be that the MBR was somehow messed up by the update...Ive got it on Dual Boot with Ubuntu. I#m beginning to panic here, need this system up and running for scan/print requirements that Linux doesn't cover. Thanks for the help
