Hey all,

Have looked thru the forums, but haven't found any 'like' issue - yet - still looking.

Anyway, have a system here that works fine, until it needs to reboot it for whatever reason (updates, program install, etc.), then when it reboots, the graphics revert to the most basic settings (Resolution 800x600 - Color Quality 8bit), and to get it back to normal, you have to re-install the ATI graphics driver.

Graphics card installed is a Radeon X1300/X1550 Series. Also have original install disk, so we know we have the correct drivers, but it keeps happening.

Oddly enough, this seemed to start a few weeks back with another Windows update release (I think it was a release with 6-9 'Critical' updates in it).

Anyway, had done a system restore back when it first happened, removing the updates, and was going to install each update 1-by-1 to see which caused the issue, but before we even tried that step, the PC still booted with the basic graphic settings.

We re-re-installed the driver, and tried another plain reboot - same result - even ran another restore earlier than the one with the updates, so now we don't know if it's 'actually' tied to a Windows update as the cause.

Very frustrating regardless - any help, or a point in the right direction, would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading - Cheers

Try installing the motherboard chipset drivers.

Looks like new drivers were posted yesterday, since you are re-installing anyway...
