Reboot Loop from Trojan Virus?

My Norten Firewall posted the message "Default Block: Sokets de trois v1. Trojan" from "192.168.1.1". Upon seeing this message I was greatly concerned and scanned my computer for any virus'. Since I have a fairly new computer with Norten Antivirus and Firewall. When I rebooted my computer, it got stuck in a loop, rebooting just prior to loading windows (blue screen flashes and then it reboots again). Help! Not having much computer skills and am on a very limited buget (no computer shops), how do I get my computer to start properly and then how do I get rid of the virus. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Put the XP cd in like you're going to reinstall Windows then go through prompts till it gives a warning not to install on same partition as the other XP then continue and it will give option to repair.

Hi:
I just helped a customer with a virus displaying this symptom (reboot loop). What causes the reboot every time win xp starts is a line added to win.ini that invokes close.exe, which restarts windows. So, anyone infected with a similar virus that causes "reboot loop" should check his win.ini file for close.exe and delete the line containing that command.
