Comment:

I have Realtek AC'97 based integrated sound. I recently reformated and installed all drivers but the Realtek one won't install properly. The computer detects the integrated sound and I point it to the driver disk. The drivers seem to install right to the end of the installation and then right at the end the computer imediately restarts. Then it starts up exactly the same asking for the driver disk. I looked in Device manager and there is a Code 1 error for the sound. Everything in the BIOS seems fine. I've tried getting the newest drivers but still the same problem. The sound worked before the format.

It would help if you posted the make/model of your board

I'll figure that out tomorrow (the 8th) as the computer isn't in my vicinity today. I know it is a Pentium and the sound is integrated.

I fixed it. I just needed the drivers from ASUS for this particular board.
