I recently set up a new computer. I installed 2 operating system: Windows 7 and windows xp. Everything went fine till I had to install the audio drivers. In windows 7 everything is working fine (windows auto installed all drivers). However windows xp doesnt even recognize the hardware. Installing drivers doesnt fix anything.
Im using a onboard audio card. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H.

The windows version runs on service pack 3 and there is no UAA driver installed. Its like windows doesnt even see there is a onboard audio driver.
Srry for my late response.

Where did you try to install the XP drivers from ? Did you go to Gigabyte's website for the latest ones ? You might also want to look at their FAQ.

I tried the drivers from the CD from the Gigabyte website and from the realtek site, and all three give me the same problem. The realtek drivers also say there is not a realtek audio card in the computer. But continues installing the drivers. :(

Did you install the other required drivers first? The motherboard chip set need to be installed.
Install WinXP SP3 then update the chip set drivers. Then go to device manager and remove the sound devices and without rebooting install the Realtek ALC889A codec drivers from the Gigabyte CD.
