One area that causes slowdown is failing hardware. The primary culprit is the hard drive. Memory also causes problems but usually is accompanied by BSOD failures. Test the drive for errors. If there are any you have 2 choices, find someone to clone the drive if possible or replace and reinstall Windows and all your software manually.

If the drive does not fail then get some malware test software and run tests on the system. I use Malwarebytes for some problems.

You might also want to download and use CCleaner, you can get it here.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

It will clean out temporary files and the such. As these build up over time they will slow your system a bit.

Which anti-virus program does she have?
Does she have an anti-spyware program?
Does she have a system cleaner such as CCleaner (slim) or Glary Utilities (slim)?
If so, does she run them regularly?

Lots of free software available Here:

An overheating CPU could also be the problem. See "thermal throttling".

I have tried running malwarebytes on the computer but still no solution to the problem. Do you know how to clone the hard drive? or do you know around abouts how much it'll cost?

>>>"Do you know how to clone the hard drive? or do you know around abouts how much it'll cost?"<<<

If the machine is infected with some type of virus or spyware, then cloning the drive will clone the problems as well (and cloning is something you can do yourself if you have any experience with hardware). It might help to find out what she has running on startup and to see if there's something she can do without:
