I just now formatted my machine and opted for windows XP as O.S Now the problem is that all my folders are readonly and when i remove the read only then to it doesn;t apply. I created a new user in Security tab of windows and given then Full control then to all my folders are readonly. is there any solution which will help me out.

All my folders are read only also, that's normal that does not mean that the things in them are read only. But you can't change the structure of the folder itself. When you make a new folder you can't change the data that makes it a folder. Do you have a problem that results because they are read only?
