re-add os to boot menu

how do I add an OS back onto the boot menu
I searched but didn't find the exact answer I need
point me to it if it has been answeered

actally I found that article
followed the instructions but it did not work
I really don't kbow why
anyway I've reinstalled & reconfigured the whole lot :everything is excellent again
