Comment:

I have a laptop (specs shown above) that is dreadfully slow. Instead I use the built-in remote desktop connection software on my laptop to use my fast computer in the other room while I lay on my bed. For some reason, I cannot seem to access any computer in my house with RDC. I click connect on the window and it acts like it is connecting for literally a half second then it goes back to window the same as when I left it except without the password I typed in. Basically the screen is just like after you get an error message about it not being able to connect, just with no error. Any help?

Check three things:

1. That Remote Desktop is enabled on the destination computer;
2. That The Terminal Services Service is set to Automatic and started; and
3. That the user account you're logging in as is added to the Remote Users group on the destination computer.

I have checked everything and everything is set as what yo said already. I was able to use RDC a few days ago but now I can't.

Have you rebooted each computer? What changed that stopped it from working? Did you install any updates? Have you tried a System Restore?

I haven't done anything major to any of my computers. I have tried a system restore on one computer but not the other. I'll try that now.

For some reason it works now. I left for two days and when I got back I could get on. Who knows...
