random reboot and giving me "System has recovered from a serious error" <i have downloaded the 317277 update to prevent me from gettting this msg, still im getting it, i have treid downloading it on the website instead of auto update but didnt werk.
also my Intel 536 V.92 Modem is a pain... its speed is around 45kbps (which is fine) but the problem is downloading... which goes sooooo slow(maximum speed i downloaded is 2.2k/sec, and im not using any download accelerator or stuff, just plain old downloader) yes i have the latest drivers for the modem

Re: random reboots, might be caused by a worm (Blaster), video adapter driver problem, or a painful hardware problem. See if you can view the error. Press the window key + pause break key. Then go to the advanced tab. Find startup and recovery and click on the button. Unchek automatically restart. Instead of random reboots, a blue screen of death displays first. Take a look at the hexadecimals. You might find out if it's a physical memory dump, which means you have a bad RAM or a video driver problem. Sadly you'll have to replace your RAM if it's a hardware problem.

The only computer that's safe is one that's shut down, unplugged, unwired, and buried six feet underground.
