***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005. 0x0557C003, 0xEF504A90)
I get this error message on a blue screen that also says your computer has stopped to prevent damage, after which I have to turn it off.
But recently I've turned on S.M.A.R.T. Disk in my system Bios. Now all it's doing is simply rebooting during high activity, such as playing games.

Can anyone help me?

Check games' updates online and make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. If it won't work, try reinstalling your game. Better yet, uninstall then delete any ramaining folders it left behind then install it again.

It's probably overheating. My CPU was overheating and I only noticed because I left the side of the case off one day and Vice City didn't crash after every 10 mins. Now with sufficient airflow it seems to be alright...getting a bit dusty though. I'd advise getting more fans for your case or a bigger heat sink. There's loads of stuff on the web about positive airflow as well but I think you generally just need a good flow sucking air in at the front and out at the back. Could make sure your processors heatsink/fan are dust free.

Keep in mind too, there are more than just windows drivers you need to update. Try going to your motherboard website and searching for the latest bios for your Motherboard AND bios for your graphics card if applicable... Flash the new bios and then try again. I was having troubles with games hanging and crashing before and i thought it was a heat problem but after flashing my video bios and mobo bios the problem was solved. Lemme know if this works
