I am experiencing a "random" loss of my Internet connection. There's no obvious time of day or period between losses. I simply get the infamous "page not found, check this and check that." Anyway, I am normally connected via a wireless connection to a home network. It is not my wireless since I can still see the drivers, printers, etc. for the other two computers on the network. No other computer on the home network has this problem; all other computers stay connected to the Internet. However, this happens even when I'm connected via an ethernet cable in a hotel room. A reboot solves the problem every single time.
Is there a way to solve this problem or at least, is there a way to restart the service to avoid a reboot.
Thanks.
Scott

If it is at a hotel room and since it is not using your normal ip address, you might try releasing and renewing the address by using start>run>type cmd> then type ipconfig /release then type ipconfig /renew (note the space between ipconfig and the /, it is required to be that way). This will not require you to rebboot the computer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried this in the past and it doesn't seem to have any effect. The only solution has been to reboot. 99% of my problems are in my home, but I mentioned the hotel room only because I wasn't depending on a wireless connection. It just seems as if my computer loses it's Internet mind. And it seems totally random and can happen sometimes after days of connectivity or within 10 minutes of a reboot.

I know that you can see the other computers and printer, but I would remove the drivers and card. Have you checked to see if there are any new drivers or firmware that might address the internet connection problem? Then I would install the drivers first and then the card just to see if it solves the problem.
