So recently have been experienceing a lot of random crashes. Sometimes its a full system reboot with no explanation. Other times it just crashes to the desktop. I am also having a problem downloading service pack 2. Go to microsoft's website and go to download page and it tells me that it can't find the page. Any help would be appreciated.
(I also am experiencing crashes while playing video games) Thanks for the help.

Look for errors in the event viewer.

what kind of error would I be looking for. So far I am not seeing anything that really stands out. The only thing I have was from yesterday that had to do with my cd rom. It was an error stating that my cd has a bad block but once again this is from yesterday and no sight of it today.

I don't mean an error that flashes on the screen.
Click start, run, type eventvwr.msc and press enter. There are 3 sets of logs there.

Yes I understand that. I meant nothing really points to a reason. By that I mean the application tab doesnt have any relevant info for my system crash. The security tab is empty. The system tab justs tells me when my procecssors enter a running or a dormant state. I have few fault bucket errors but that just pretains to the video game I was trying to play. I am still finding nothing that would explain random crashes for my pc

Ok, if there is nothing there, then we have to look for something else. One thing I forgot to mention was go to system properties, advanced. startup and recovery and uncheck automatic restart. That should stop the unexplained reboots.
