Random 100% System CPU Usage

I seem to have an annoying problem in so far as i'm getting random (maybe 1 in 3 boots) 100% CPU usage in System Manager being taken up by the "System" process.
I believe my system to be "clean" (TrojanHunter, Spybot S&D, Adaware, Avast) and regularly defrag it.
I must stress that the 100% usage is rarely straight from bootup but seems to occur at any point which, thus far, i seem to be unable to replicate.

Do you have the newest versions of Spybot and adaware as both came out with new ones last week. Glad you trust Avast, I never would trust a free program to safeguard my records. Do some online antivirus scans from good software makesr like Trend Micro, Bit Defender, or Kaspersky.

Defrag will not do much, its more for the older hard drives, and since your running XP you probebally are not running a 1.2 gig older drive.
But yes do upgrade those free programs. I trust them with my COmputer (But Im to lazy to go out and buy any better)
If you can afford it, spring for Norton IE security 2005. Its like 60 bucks from Walmart. That will clean it right up
