I have a P3-600 with a Asus motherboard. It refuses to register memmory above 128. I changed chips, changed slots, checked the bios, evrything possible but still will not read more than 128 (131). Interestingly enough, this change took place after a virus infection but I have since quaranteed those viruses. I have also ensured that the chip is tightly seated. I am going crazy about this and any suggestions would be apprecaited. Thanks.

this may be no help, but my pc dissided for no apparent reason to only recognize 512mb two days ago, i took both sticks out, gave the connections a good clean, and put them back in a different order. booted up and straight back to 768mb.
