I had 256MB of RAM before and I just took out the 256 card and put in two 512MB cards and now when I look how much RAM I have it says 128.
Do I need to activate my RAM or what?

Wow...activate your ram? I don't think that is possible as it is "activated" upon manufacturing. What is the model# of your computer? Do you have a desktop or laptop?

Where are you looking to see how much ram you have?

cut and paste link above
The program listed above will give you all details of your CPU, memory, bus speeds etc.
Post back with more details and the results of the program's reading (upon installation)

Hope this helps.
