Ram/ Motherboard Problem!

CPU/Ram: 3.0ghz/ 512 ddr ram

Hello everyone, i have a serious problem with the new ram i bought, it's from kingston (valueram) , i bought two 512mb pc3200 sticks KVR400x64C3A/512 and I tried to put it into my motherboard (P5GD1) and lo and behold, windows xp wouldn't load, first of all is the memory i have compatible with my motherboard? I tried to find out but im not sure at all...plz help, really appreciate it.

Go to www.crucial.com and see what you shoud have bought and compare with what you did buy. Can the motherboard take more than 512 is the other issue. Since you didn't give make or model we have to guess on that.

You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

Thanks for your reply. Is this what you were looking for, when you meant make and model? this is all the Ram specifications of what i recently purchased:

Description:

I'm running on P4 3.0 Ghz / 512 DDR RAM (not sure other specifications other than that it's 512 and DDR)
Motherboard is Asus P5GD1 not VM or anything else just P5GD1, 80 GB Maxtor HD, Geforce 6600.....thanks again for replys...

You can look up your exact motherboard there. They are listed after the computer manufacturers.

yes the old ram has no problems and that's how i'm posting my messages now thankfully..

i checked under my motherboard name and i found out the compatible ones but they are all i guess Crucial brand names, no kingston ram is mentioned there, although when i checked kingston with my motherboard specifications it seems that it supports it, but i am still unsure whether this ram i bought is 64 bit and that it wouldn't work on my computer since i use P4 and know that AMD's are considered 64 bit. Going back to the crucial website it seems from the description of wht is compatible with my computer in terms of ram that what i have seems to match......but it really boggles my mind that both rams i just bought brand new and KINGSTON for crying out loud could be defective. Can you please verify some of the information im a bit confused :( thanks for your help!...
