I got a new mother board this week and hooked every thing up and set the Bios as I was told to so well after a clean install of Windows XP it was crashing all the time after 15-30 mins so this went on for 2 days When I would boot to Linux there was no Issues at all.I found out that my ram was set to 200mhz in the Bios which I guess XP didn't like the ram is capable of 400mhz SuSE Linux has no problems running at 200mhz I can only set the ram to 166 or lower what's the deal with XP crashing when it's set higher?

You can't compair one OS to another. There are a few thousand parts that have timing and firmware on that board. By design linux and xp must use different paths and timings to perform. Normally a board is only tested to work with a version of windows. The linux people find problems and rewrite for that. Saying all that doesn't include how the memory works. Memory may or may not be bootlegged or mismarked (polite way of saying they sold you junk). If you use a memory brand that is recommended by the board maker and it still fails on memtest then return it.
