Is there something I can do to fix this problem bcause i know xp can hadle up to 2 gb of ram. My system should have 416mb of ram.

Did you check what the maximum amount of ram per slot your motherboard can use? Some boards can only use 128 max per slot. Crucial Memory and Kingston, both offer excellent memory finders at their website, so that you can order the exact ram for your computer.

I checked that site and i does support 256 mb slots and it seems that my system is only detecting the 256mb and the 32mb thng plus it has the capacity of 512 mb.

I am not sure how many slots you have, since you did not list your motherboard. If it was mine, I would install the 256 in slot one all by itself, start the computer and see if it works by checking MY COMPUTER>properties. If it is working, I would shut it down and install the 128 in slot two, and see it it works correctly. If it does, I would not bother to install the 32 sticks. Some motherboards can be very picky about ram. Many people do not mix brands.
