Is it better to my upgrade a PC-800 RAMBUS RIMM 128 MB;with a single 512 MB kit or is it better to do it with two 256 MB kits? I have 4 slots for my RAM. DO I need 512 MB or will 384 MB work as well?

well i recommend to use two 256 mb kit as if infuture da ram fials or comes faulty u will loose whole 512 Mb so its wiser to be with two 256 Mb.
Well it depends on ur Mother-board n its bios n design dat how much is da last MB can be installed. Refer to ur motherboard manual
