One of my sibs downloaded realplayer from the net and can't log online . {with aol}
They are a dialup account. And my question is, does realplayer clash with aol in winXP?
Please Help!!!!!!

Hey Wombat!
Thanx 4 your quick reply! Her [my sib's] system is locking when she tries to connect to aol. She add/removed it per aol & my suggestion, & reinstalled with a new CD. & it locks when she tries to connect. I agree with your spyware diagnosis, do you think it may have damaged the registry?

Hello,

A similar event happened to me I just recently signed up to AOL broadband and after a few days of use I could not access the internet using microsoft internet explorer.

The above helpful comments all make sense to me now I did not come to the conclusion that realplayer is an evasive program, however that is what probably screwed up my registry. I had to restore my system back to the day of AOL installation and I did not re-install realplayer, the computer is working fine, but most online videos do not work because they are in realplayer format.

AOL do not mention this in their sale promotions, I feel if I have been conned.
