OS: windows xp sp2
CPU/Ram: p4 2.8 775; 512 ddr2

k...flash files dont play and instead there's a quicktime logo with a question mark...i read that that's because quicktime has takenc control of flash files and i disabled that by going to its settings and unchecking "flash files" in bott the "browser" and "file types."

using firefox...i also re-installed the flash plugin for firefox...still have the problem

How about IE? You might also try uninstalling QuickTime and trying it then. If it works then the problem must be with QuickTime. And just as a side note, I prefer using the freeware alternative to QuickTime, appropriately named "QuickTime Alternative", which can be found at:
