I install Quicktime, or even Quicktime Pro.

I uncheck EVERY SINGLE BOX except for .mov/.qt extensions in the "file types" menu within Quicktime.

I check WMP11. It says it is controlling all other video. All boxes checked.

I open IE7. I click an MPEG video. Quicktime plays it embedded in the browser as opposed to WMP11 opening it in its own program (as it usually does).

This happens on any computer I try it on. I CANNOT get Quicktime to get the hell off of my movies within browsers.

What do I do!?

I'm not sure Quicktime Alternative is a viable solution for playing solid HD videos, is it? It seems a little shady.

HD plays fine in MPC which comes with QTA.
