QuickLaunch variability

Comment:
In one of my WinXP/SP3 systems, I can rearrange the order of the items in Quick Launch to my heart's content. But in another they get re-sorted alphabetically. How can I change the second system to the first ?

Sebastian42, my SWAG, set things the way you like, then close using 'file' (upper left corner) rather than the handier 'X' in the right (only needs to be done once)and restart. That forces Windows to 'remember' settings. Should open the way you like from then on. HTH. Ed in Texas.

I can't see how to apply that to QuickLaunch.

Are you locking the Taskbar after arranging it?
Right click a blank part of the Taskbar and you will get a context menu. Click on the Lock the Taskbar and it will place a check mark next to it. The Taskbar should then stay as you have it.

It should, but that does not prevent the items in the QuickLaunch Bar being re-sorted. I want to point out again, that this is a peculiarity in ONE out of TWO WinXP systems.
I do not understand your SWAG - maybe there is a way out of my mess through it... ?
