I use a 1600 x 1200 resolution and therefore I can fit a lot of icons on my QuickLaunch bar. However, I have noticed that everytime I reboot, the order of my icons is reset. The order doesn't appear to be by name or date, but it is reset to the same order each reboot. Of course, I would prefer that XP accept my customized order like Win98 did. Any ideas on what to do? I have searched and searched the Net for anyone complaining of this same problem, but no luck so far.

look in explorer for the quick launh folder (somewhere under “documents and settings“ and check whether the icons are set to automatically rearrange in “view“/folder options. good luck
Yeah, I know the folder. It is found at "C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" but no matter what kind of settings I make to the folder, it doesn't seem to affect the actual Quick Launch bar. The order of the icons as the appear everytime I reboot isn't logical either. They aren't ordered by date, name, et al.
