Quick Launch Icons

I know this is a trivial problem with my PC, but it is one that has been agrivating me for some time.... My quick launch toolbar shows programs correctly (i.e. something that designates it from the others) but only shows a generic icon for each quick launch (i.e. an E when I was using Explorer and now a small fox since I am using Firefox).
Is there a way to actually see the particular icons for each quick launch ??...

How do you have the Taskbar and Start Menu configured? If it is XP, try switching it to the Classic Menu using the start Menu selection?

Right click on each icon,properties,change icon.

Thanks capt, I tried switching to classic view and that didn't seem to change anything with the icons.
Indigian, I gave that a shot, but when I went to change icon. It only gave me 3 different versions of the "fox" to choose from...So that didn't do it...
Summary: dumb question, I accidentally deleted my Desktop quick launch icon in the taskbar. and yes I emptyed the recycle bin too, doh! how do I get it back?? thanks. AMD Athlon XP 2600+ @ 2.13GHz 768MB PC21...
Summary: MMM.. I have a couple of quick launch icons that are invalid shortcuts... I look at proerties of them and the DO NOT contain any info...i.e target name etc It seems i cannot delete these aswell WHY ??...
