Quandry Logging On To Computer

Specs: WinXP Pro, Phenom 9600 / 2 GB PC 6400, Radeon 4870 X2, 1.5 TB Seagate Barracuda
When I log onto my computer, I get the welcome/splash screen that pops up with the "Administrator" button that I have to click to enter my desktop. There are no other profiles set. I know it has something to do with dotnet installer 1.1 that came with Printmaster, software that produces greeting cards because it started when I installed it. However, I have it installed on my other computer without having the same issue. I press the start button on that computer and it goes directly to my desktop after post. I've uninstalled the dotnet installer only to have the program not work. I've uninstalled then reinstalled the Printmaster program with the same results. Same issue. Is there a way that I can resolve this? I've tried to the best of my computing knowledge, which is not saying a whole lot! Any help will be boffo! Thnx.

JGZebby, just a SWAG, when you did the installation, it wrote something that acts like a Trojan? Be aware that a virus and a Trojan are similar, but not the same. Many times, an AV detects one it can't clean , other times, it gets missed entirely.
If you need to clean one, Superantispyware can do the job and you can get it free @:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
among other places. They have a Vista compatible version if needed.
If it turns out that you need to use it, be sure to update prior to running and disable 'restore' (restart after cleaning) so it doesn't get put back. They just released a new update recently and it changes all the time. Things are in a constant state of flux.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete-Delete will bring up a login box. There you can authenticate with any of the userids and passwords on the computer.

We’re not all the same
What a shame" - Shinedown

Tweakui (a free MS download) has many useful tweaks. One of them is an auto logon.
