putting flash drive content onto my computer

Specs: Windows XP
I'm new at this. I have a flashdrive that my grandson filled from my old computer and I want to put the content onto my new computer. How do I do this? Also, I think that my grandson put some nasty stuff onto the flashdrive. Can I delete it? Does it have to go on my new computer and, if so. will it wreck my new computer? Thank you

Not sure what you mean by nasty stuff [porn vs virus's] but if you suspect anything DO NOT PUT THIS STICK INTO YOUR NEW PC. Take it to a computer store and have then scan it for virus's before you do any thing.

Thank you SO much for your very quick reply! Thank goodness that I didn't know where to put the flashdrive. My grandson wrecked (he's 16) my last computer. according to the computer fixing store, because he went to a porn site when he borrowed my computer to "check his email" and he downloaded something. The computer never worked again. This is why I didn't ask him to help me with this problem. Once burned, etc. I am so grateful to you for doing this on a volunteer basis. I didn't know where to turn. Thank you, thank you...!
