If I make a new folder then right click on it and choose properties it has a thang there that gives you the option to put a thumbnail on your folder to remind you of whats in that folder. I have tried to do that several times but my folder never shows the picture. Has anyone been able to get the picture on their folder? I have been able to make icons for them but not put a picture on it. All this just because of wendys puss.

Do you have your folder settings set to Thumbnail? That is the only way you will see the picture on a folder.

Anon I think you are confused about what im talking about. Im not talking about how i veiw things with the folder open. Im talking about the folder being on my desktop and not opened and it having a picture on it to show me whats in the folder.

I understand exactly what you are Talking about. You can right click on any folder you want to and choose customize and select a picture for the folder. The picture on the folder is only visable in Thumbnail view. You cannot have Thumbnail view on the desktop. You can change the icon of a folder to the picture you want by resizing the picture you want to 32x32 or 48x48 and save as a .ico. You can easily do this with Irfanview. Just right click your folder and choose properties then select customize and change the icon to your picture that you saved as .ico and you're done.
Easy isn't it

Sure there are ways to do it and I understand that but I wont to know why xp has it built in for you to put a thumbnail there and it wont do it.

It does work on any folder on your computer except Desktop. Desktop does not display in Thumbnail view. If you want to see the thumbnail pics you have been putting on your folders go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Desktop and they are on the folders there if you have folders set to Thumbnails.
Just change the icon to the picture you want
