I have a AMI bios ver. 1.5 When I turn on the puter I get 1 beep and then 3 beeps. I was getting 1 beep and 2 & 2 beeps. I did a memtest86 for 3 hours and had no errors. The puter runs great (no compliants) its just those darn beeps. If I (ASSUME) that the motherboard is good (cause its been tested once), where would one look next? OR should I just leave well-enough alone or should I be worried? Thx

I've found some more recent bioses will beep more than once while booting yet Windows seemingly works fine if the video type is not set correctly for the video card (in a slot) you are using.
E.g. If the card is AGP, and the bios is set to Intialize video first: PCI , or similar.
Check your bios Setup settings.

If the card is AGP or PCI-E and the bios is set to PCI, the video still works in XP, but it can't do the superior things the AGP or PCI-E card is capable of - it's in PCI mode.

If that's fine in your bios, there may be some other setting in the bios Setup that's wrong. Try loading bios defaults, then check your Intialize first or similar setting if you are using a video card.

You MUST load bios defaults after flashing the bios to make sure the Cmos contents and what you see in Setup match the bios version.

If you do load the default settings, be aware that they are generic settings, not best performance settings. They should be used as a starting point or for troubleshooting purposes. The BIOS should always be manually configured to best suite your hardware & provide optimal performance.

I found another list of bios-beepcodes. Perhaps it helps you:
