Comment:
When windows starts there is a fil in my task manager called pup. I have no idea what the file is or where it is located or how to remove it. The file causes cpu usage to max out at 100% and causes ie to lag and freeze. I have run virus scans and they all come up clean. Anyone have any ideas that might help me?

I would also suggest downloading and running spybot, installing spyguard for prevention. The file can be associated with win2k and also scripts and I did find it also associated with probable virus problems.
