ps2 ports for mouse and keyboard failed

Specs: Windows XP, AMD / 256 GB Ram
Took my PC to repair shop. Everything worked fine. After a 6 mile trip back to my office the ps2 ports were not recognized.
A USB key board worked fine. A PS2 mouse, an USB mouse, and a serial mouse all failed.
Repeated the story and again fine at the shop failed at office. Occasionally get a message indicating that the USB circuit has failed. Any ideas other that once again returning the MB? it is an ASUS M2n68B-AM Plus, 2+ GB ram, multiple IDE and SATA HDD's, 2 CD/DVD RW drives and a USB Mouse.
