Progs still run in standby mode?

Hello, I am curious if I can let a small program run overnight, and if I were to put Windows XP on standby mode, will it allow the program to run or does my computer have to be on fully? Thanks

in order for files to run fully on ur system, the computer can NOT be on stand-by.
