Programs don't open

Everytime I turn on my laptop not all the programs load. I go to open the browser and nothing opens. I proceed to open other programs and nothing opens. Trying to restart it from the start bar doesn't work at all. So I have to reboot it. When it gets rebooted everything works perfectly fine, I'm just tired of rebooting my computer and I know it's bad. Any ideas what this is?
