Hello,

I know there are numerous questions based on 100% program usage, however, i just bought a brand new P4 2.4Ghz 512DDR ram and the computer is running at 100% cpu usage when i run Sonar (cakewalk - music editing program), I also bought an enermax atx 12v ver 1.2 power supply... the motherboard is a mainboard p4vmm2

thank you very much, hope you guys can help

Derek

Your hardware is probably fine. You might not have a pagefile, however, without one windows probaby would have crashed when you played the game. Check to see if any processes are using up all of your ram by pressing ctrl+Alt+DEl and go to procceses and sort by memory usage by clicking the mem usage tab. Delete proccess you know you do not need. By default windows enables some processes you do not normally need. To permenently delete unessecary procceses go to Stat> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services and read the descriptions to see if they are neccessary, if unneccesary then right click> properties and change to manual or disable. To see if you have a page file do the following.
You may not have a pagefile set control panel >system >advanced >performance
Let windows choose whats best for my computer or under adjust to use more resources for programs and at the bottom add a pagefile if one is not present.
If that is not the problem try changing some game setting so that it uses less resources.
