Hi,
When I load my computer the fan speed increases in the first XP screen, as if it was loading something. Then the computer is slow, but no process looks like spyware and there are no startup items. Then, windows sometimes goes to windows classic and the router disconects from the router, at high download speeds. Could it be the ram or what?
Thank.

first of all I think you are talking about 2 or possibly 3 different issues, so maybe you can clarify on the following:

"...the fan speed increases in the first XP screen, as if it was loading something. Then the computer is slow..."

The fan has no ability to "load" anything and only reacts to temperature *IF* you have a temp sensing fan and it is plugged into a motherboard fan header that is capable of adjusting the fan speed. By slowing down are you also referring to the Fan? Please advise. Additionally lets forget about this issue right now as I don't see it's relevance to the router disconnecting thing.

When does windows go to Classic Theme? on boot up?

You have two routers that disconnect from each other? I am assuming you mean that your PC disconnects from the Router? What kind of connection do you have (DHCP, PPoE, DSL/Cable) and does it always disconnect when downloading? or does it disconnect at other times as well?

First rec: Post only on ONE related issue! It's easier to help and less confusing

2nd rec: Enable any/all logging in your router and monitor log files for possible errors relating to your disconnections. Also note if your IP address has changed just after a disconnection.

3rd Rec: Monitor your Event Viewer (Control Panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer) to see if there are any errors that might be related to boot-up errors (XP goes to Classic at Bootup) or Network errors (Disconnection from router).

Thanks.

The fan reacts to processing %, meaning that if 50% or more of the processors speed is being used, it will increase its speed. THis happens when I play, but never when XP is loading. This means that either a big program is loading or ram is corrupted. I ran memtest and saw nothing. The problem isnt the router, as other devices work. It happens when I am downloading something and either the ram or processor collapse and the computer decides to ignore the router. Its not DHCP but a given IP and happens when it is downloading large amounts of data and I decide to load something else (in the PC, eg a movie)
I think they are all related as they happen at the same time, its like if the processor didnt respond correctly. But I know the processor is fine as this doesnt happen with other OS in other hard disks.

Thanks for answering.

My most frequent problems are that when I am listening to aoung it bumps or stops for some secnods, audio and video arent sincronized and the processor collapses (or ram) sometimes, even by just opening a window.
