If you want these programs terminated, go to DOS (start-run) and type in services.msc. REMMEMBER, these programs you listed are running for a reason.

hi, let's start again, i'm trying to eradicate <Bad> entries that are in the above programs which were revealed by a2 HiJackThis Analysis but need to know how to do this. Can u help here
many thanks for advice.

I wonder if you are misreading HiJackThis. I would suggest that you go to the 'Security and virus' forum. Ask if you can post your HiJackThis log for them to analyze.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

Windows Defender has a feature called Software Explorer that shows process information. Or you could get Process Explorer from SysInternals. It shows all the threads of currently running processes.
UNIX is an operating system, OS/2 is half an operating system, Windows is a shell, and DOS is a boot partition virus.

Have you tried running in Safe-Mode? Also make sure that Hijackthis is on your Destop. If you have a virus or trojen horse you still may need another program to delete it. I've done this once on my own computer, and it's not fun. Please try and explain the situation a bit more.

you have all been so helpful, will sort it out and get back to you again.....
many thanks for advice.

All those processes you listed are necessary Windows services that need to start Automatically when Windows loads. The exception is the MSN Messenger (which is the last one you listed.)
