For some reason, after a while when I use my computer, processes will eventually fail to open. It usually happens when firefox gets up to about 100 Mbs of RAM. But that shouldn't be too much if I have 3938 MBs right? Usually when firefox gets up to that much the Commit Charge says 1250 MBs. And its not just firefox, usually when it gets around there, explorer and everything starts crapping out. I can't even log off or turn off. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have 512MB of RAM.
I do not see where Commit Charge comes anywhere near the amount of RAM I have, or what amount is
being used.To get better performance ----
