Hi,
I notice that I have a SVCHOST.exe process running.Actually 2 instances. It takes up a lot of memory. Is it anything related to my cable modem. I have an Adelphia connection and SV is the name of my computer.
Please let me know

These are some of the processes it runs and yes you need it.

That's part of Win XP.
Don't shut them down, as they are needed, all of them.
