You need at least WinXP SP2 to use whatever it is that's complaining.

You're right. Didn't even have SP2.installed.
So installed SP3 and IE8 as well. So far so
good. Considering how slow dial up is....

See how you get on but I found IE became a bit unreliable on my XP. Sometimes webpages hung up. I think the reason is that it is not kept up to date to work with modern websites (only security). Worth considering an alternative browser, such as Firefox, for general use.
